The Ames Area Running Club (AARC) is a union of 100+ area runners with the purpose to promote better health and friendship through all levels of running, jogging and walking. We are nothing if not social, and welcoming to new members. You can take part in our Frozen Foot Runs or get in on many informal group runs with fellow members throughout the year. Most of our group runs occur in Ames Iowa, but you never know where you will find us. Each fall we dedicate our resources to Run for the Roses. The proceeds from this run benefit Alpha Omicron Pi sorority philanthropy, Arthritis Research Foundation. The race has become one of the highlight events of the fall in Central Iowa. Typically over $15,000 is raised for this great cause.
