Fayette Striders is a running club located in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The organization was created in 1977 to bring runners, walkers, and multi-sport athletes of all ages and abilities together to share their hobbies. Currently the club has 70 members ranging in age from 15 to +80. WHY JOIN??? · Help support local events: The club directs the Mt. Summit Challenge and helps support many local races with funds, programs, and volunteers · Help support local students: In 2006 the club created the Fayette Striders Cross Country and Track & Field Scholarship Fund, which donates $1,000 to one male and female athlete from Fayette County who is continuing their education. · Are you training for an event? The club has scheduled runs at various paces that members can attend to help train for upcoming events. · Join in the fun: The club has various functions throughout year, including a Summer Picnic, Christmas Run, and Holiday Party · Race Series: Created in 2008, members can participate in the Fayette Striders Race Series. The series will calculate points based off of race difficulty and competition of select races in Fayette County. Awards will be given to the top member of each age grouped category
