The Hays Striders Track Club is a competitive youth track and field team for all area youth and is sponsored by interested parents and local businesses. The Club is associated with the Missouri Valley USATF and AAU organizations, practice daily, and are coached by certified USATF and AAU coaches. Athletes can become members of the AAU and/or USATF. The club competes in developmental track meets in April and May, followed by qualifying track meets in the summer months. Competition is based on gender and age group. Qualification at the qualifying meets could lead to competition at the Junior Olympic Games. The 2018 games for AAU will be held in Des Moines, IA; and the games for USATF will be in Greensboro, NC. The Hays Striders are dedicated to developing track and field skills while stressing self-discipline, confidence, and cooperation. Individual workouts based on individual goals are emphasized.
