Club Bio
The Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club is the Albany N.Y. area's largest running organization. The Club was formed in 1971 and today has over 2,000 members. Our members come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life, as well as different running styles and speeds. All of us are united in our love of running and our desire to promote and participate in quality races and running-related activities. Our Club organizes nearly 30 running events a year. Club races are held at many different locations throughout the Capital District. Our events offer something for everyone, novice and veteran alike. We organize and direct several of the area's premier running events, including the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge (May), The Mohawk-Hudson River Marathon and Hannaford Half Marathon (Oct), and the 15K Stockade-athon (Nov). Other events include: Our five Winter Series races including the New Year's Day Hangover Half Spring races such as Runnin' of the Green and Delmar Dash A 10K for Masters (40+) Colonie Summer Track (Tuesday Evenings) Trail races at area parks -- Thacher Park and Tawasentha Park A 5K on Labor Day Most Club races are low-key events with a minimal entry fees. Our Ten Free program allows members to participate in 10 of our events with NO entry fee. Longer distance races are usually accompanied by a shorter race for those not interested in or ready for the longer race. There are also special events for children at several races. Club members can also earn points in specified Grand Prix races throughout the year. Cash prizes are awarded seven deep in six age categories for men and women. Our annual banquet recognizes members for both service and running accomplishments.
