Club Bio
The Milford Road Runners were created in 1974 to provide a forum for runners of all abilities to train, compete, and socialize. Our membership is a mixtures of all runners from elite athletes to weekend warriors, from newbies to seasoned vets. The only requirement is a love, or at least a like, of running. We also sponsor two area races – Winter Wonderland and the Independence Day 5k. The Winter Wonderland 5 Mile race is held in late January at Platt Tech in Milford. The Independence Day 5K is held on July 4th at Tribus Brewery in Milford. There are raffles at both events and plenty of excitement for members and participants. This is a good chance to learn what goes into putting on a large race. During the summer months, we sponsor a series of kids track meets at the Platt Tech track in Milford. The Kids Track Series starts on the first Thursday after Independence Day and continues until the end of August. We usually get about 150 kids participating who range in age. There are also adult races mixed in, so there is a chance for everyone to compete. Trophy night and T-shirt night are two of the most popular events. Admission is free and every youth participant receives recognition for their efforts.
