Club Bio
It all began in the summer of 2010. While finishing his first year with the Deerfield High School Boys Track and Field program, Orion Head Coach Ryan Brown was approached by several dedicated Juniors looking for an opportunity to continue their seasons and gain a competitive advantage over their competition going into their Senior year. Based on his own experience as a High School track athlete and one-time AAU/USATF competitor, Coach Brown knew that a summer track club could produce the results his athletes were looking for. It was at that time that the idea for the Orion Track Club was born. The Orion Track Club was started in 2010 with the premise of bringing competitive AAU/USATF track to north suburban Chicago as well as to give exposure to athletes hoping to earn college athletic scholarships in the future. The idea was simple: rather than have our best high school athletes simply end their season in May and sit around for 3 months, The Orion Track Club would bring the best athletes and coaches together to compete in state, regional, and national competition. What started out as a small team of just a handful of athletes (all pole vaulters), the Orion Track Club has grown into a team encompassing nearly all track and field events and disciplines.
