Club Bio
The River to River Runners was established in 1984 as an outgrowth of the Herrin Road Runners to promote running and fitness in Southern Illinois. Organizing and conducting quality running events has been the Club's primary goal since its inception. An equally important objective; however, is to encourage running as sport and healthful exercise, and to support activities which educate the community about the importance of physical fitness. To further these goals, the River to River Runners now boasts a membership of over 400 and includes individuals from ten different states. It sponsors a wide variety of races and other running-related activities throughout the year, providing something for every member, no matter what age, sex, or running ability. Best of all, camaraderie and mutual support remain the touchstones for River to River members.
