Club Bio
Get out & run for the health of it. Lake Agassiz Pacers is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit organization formed to inspire and promote running in the Red River Valley. For over 40 years, LAP has been hosting local racing events such as the St. Patrick’s Day 5k and the Red River Run. The oldest running club in the region, LAP puts on local races and running-related activities for people of all ages and abilities, from the casual jogger to the serious competitor. LAP prides itself in upholding the traditional aspects of local road races. All of our races are timed with state-of-the-art chip-timing technology. Awards are given to recognize age categories, overall winners and age-graded participants. LAP is dedicated to keeping race registration fees as low as possible, so that every member of the community has an opportunity to participate in LAP events. LAP offers an annual membership which provides runners not only with a strong sense of camaraderie, but also great incentives at local running stores. LAP also is the only club in the region to offer a Race Series where eligible runners are ranked based on age-graded scoring. An Annual Meeting is held each year in January to thank LAP members and recognize winners of the Race Series. LAP events are made possible by the work of Board Members and dedicated community volunteers. The LAP Board consists of 6 – 10 volunteers from the community who donate their time to putting on great races and events throughout the community. Some Board Members have been involved in LAP for decades, while some are new to the organization.
